The year was 1955.
A number of concerned individuals from Glenn County met and
formed the Glenn County Sheriff's Posse.
This dedicated group set standards to promote and preserve
horsemanship in Glenn County.
Over the years the mission of the posse has expanded to include
community service; western events; search and rescue; parades;
high school scholarships; providing for the needy; and assisting
other equestrian groups.
The posse owns and operates a five acre equestrian facility in
Orland, California. This facility is used for a varity of equestrain
vents and available to other groups wanting to host horsemanship
events.
Meetings are held once a month on the second Tuesday at 7:00pm.
For individuals interested in joining the posse please call the office
number for an application.
